Dr. Yousef Jabareen focuses on the Palestinian struggle for human rights inside Israel

“Israel is infringing the human rights of over 11 million Palestinians”, Dr. Yousef Jabareen told nearly 200 people who came to hear him in Ottawa on October 18th. These include about 1.5 million Palestinians who live inside today’s Israel. Jabareen, who was elected to the Israeli Knesset in 2015, is one of them. He has a Ph.D. in law. Elizabeth May stays on, opens door to further discussions on BDS

Elizabeth May will stay on as Green Party leader despite her party’s controversial motion supporting the Boycott Divestment Sanction movement which opposes Israeli policy. May said the party will launch a new process to try to reach consensus. It could present a great opportunity for more education on the cause of Palestinian human rights. Read more…

“Why did Canada help hide the destruction of my village?” asks Palestinian Heidar Abu Ghosh

abughosh at canada parkHeidar Abu Ghosh (r) was only 14 in 1967 when Israeli soldiers forced him and his Palestinian family to leave his village in the middle of the night. Then they destroyed it. Then JNF Canada collected (tax free) donations to hide that destruction by turning the area into a park for Israelis. Here he is in front of a sign that says the City of Ottawa made a donation. Zionist troops from Ben Dunkelman’s 7th brigade celebrate on July 17th, 1948, after the surrender of the mostly Christian Palestinian city of Nazareth. The Toronto Star calls Dunkelman a “hero” because he protected the residents from death or expulsion. But hold on. According to the UN partition plan, Nazareth was not supposed to be in Israel.
